What was the highlight of Jia Xin Hotel
Good value for money but take care of insect bites
The hotel has an excellent location very close to the train station and in walking distance to the night market. Our room was big and, although a bit old, had everything that we needed. Air conditioning worked well. You could get free hot and cold water.
The bathroom is very old (but clean). I woke up with many bites on my legs, which made my nights very itchy... when I told the stuff they were trying to help but could not give us another room... Not sure if it was insects within the room that bit me (I suspect it), but recommend to take care with that especially if you get easily bitten by insects....

Perfect location for a short stay to commute up Alishan
The location is really awesome and it's an underrated hotel for a short stay. Despite smell of smoke in the room when you turn off the AC, everything has been great esp. the auntie at the counter who is extremely helpful!
Cigarette smell room. Nothing else. Its old but clean

Good
Extremely central location near the train station and night markets.
The staff doesn't speak English and there was some strange problem so checking in took at least 15 minutes. There were also lots of termites.

Overall, great value for money. Our room was comfortable, yet the hotel would benefit from a renovation.
The location is perfect and everyone's super friendly
The room was not perfectly soundproof; too few electric sockets
